| FUN AND SPORTS |
Nashville Shores is the place to stay cool. The outdoor water park features the state's four largest water slides. Relax on the beach, go jetskiing or parasailing, or take the children to their own huge activity area. In the heart of downtown you can watch the Tennessee Titans (football), and Nashville Predators (ice hockey). Nashville Sounds baseball is one step down from the major league.
Out of town there's drag racing at the Nashville Speedway. Canoe trips, from two-hours to multi-day on the Harpeth River just west of the city. There's fishing on a number of lakes circling the city, with boats for hire, and fly fishing too. There are around a dozen golf courses, both public and resort, including Springhouse at Opryland. Go riding at several ranches and stables, even following the historic Natchez Trace path.

| SHOPPING |
|
Nine malls, such as Cool Springs Galleria and the Mall at Green Hills, with top names while downtown is a growing hub of interesting shops, whether Western wear and boots, historic wood block printed concert posters from Hatch Show Print, country records from Ernest Tubb's or a gleaming vintage instrument from Gruhn Guitars. Neon-lit Opry Mills at Opryland is a combination of outlet stores, big shops and the Gibson Guitar Showcase workshop. Prime Outlets at Lebanon is the place for upmarket factory store shopping. You can't buy Jack Daniel's at the distillery - it's in a dry county - but you can many other places. Take home a bottle of the super smooth Gentleman Jack, only available in the US.
